After watching Mad Men's first ep of the new season I took a nap.
I didn't necessarily think I'd be able to sleep. I prolly didn't for half an hour.
At some point I fell asleep.
I dreamed that I worked for Don & he wasn't nearly as much of a dick as I thought he'd be. I'm not sure how I came up with this but apparently I was buying some kinda wallet from one of his clients. I think it was Betsy that said it was ok & Don said, yeah, it's not a big deal.
Then I was at their house & I was helping Betsy put some stuff in the top of a closet.
Then she brought out a hamster & asked me if I'd watch it for her for a while. It was a pretty big one. I remember that I was lying down with it & it was nuzzling into my chin & could not get close enuf to me. It kept pushing into the bottom of my chin harder & harder & I was laughing.
At that point I was woken up by our cat Nate who was apparently not getting enuf attention in another part of the house & was opening & closing a cabinet door loudly over & over & over again.
I'm not sure how this whole thing started. I've had a great deal of trouble recording the show Mad Men, a thing I still see no proof is worth my effort. I think, originally, there was a conflict with another new show, Shameless. There was no way in hell that I would allow anything to get in the way of viewing/recording it the very second a new ep was airing.

*sigh* Anyway, I tried at least three times to record the last ep of Mad Men (5). The first time the onscreen schedule musta been wrong, the second time the cable went out for three hours & the third time our electricity went out. Unfuckingbelievable.
Luckily (or not, depending on how one feels about the show), Stv found that all the eps (so far) of Mad Men can be found via our cable company's On Demand pkg.
I finally got to see the last one yesterday. I apparently found an angle on the thing that no one else did. I've just spent a great deal of time going to various fan review sites & for whatever reason, it seems that no other person noticed the fact that Chuck and Buck was thrown right in the middle of the thing. What the fuck?!
First off, the Buck character, who in this case is named Adam, is so fucking lovely, I could've looked at him forever. I cannot stress enuf how beautiful & child-like this man looks.

Of course, this picture does not do justice to how he lit up the fucking screen esp in that I am unable to show what a beautiful smile the guy has.
Still, he looks similar enuf to Mike White, that coupled with what little details we were given about his connection to Don, it was so obvious they were blatantly ripping off C & B.
Ok so this guy, Adam, sees Don's picture in the paper & realizes that Don is his long lost brother, Dick, who he'd assumed was dead.
That's one difference, they are brothers. But the way Don reacted to seeing Adam was so like Chuck when Buck attempted to reunite with him. He was horrified. And the way Adam looked at Don, even tho it was kinda understandable, given that he originally thought his big brother dead, was almost like a longing.
And like Buck, Adam seemed kind of lost after his last parent-like family member died.
Don's total panic in being found seemed way over the top. At least with Buck, we knew why. Don seemed so desperate to make Adam disappear, we thought he might actually kill him.
Their last scene together was so heartbreaking. We could tell Don felt really bad at paying off Adam like that & seemed to understand that his little brother really needed him but, for reasons we don't &/or may never know, he didn't want to take the chance on ruining his current, superficial existence with his "new" identity.
